Why Plywood?

At Bothy.Studio we use plywood in our furniture.

At Bothy.Studio we care about durability and longevity and we care about forests so we believe plywood is a way that we can collectively reduce our impact on the forests.

Plywood is not a new product, we are all familar with it, commonly seeing it used in construction and increasingly finding it in kitchen and furniture products. Plywood uses wood efficiently, cross laminations add strength and ridigity while hardwood veneer applications to the exterior allow makers to produce aesthetically interesting furniture at more pocket friendly pricing to solid hardwood pricing while formica and similar furniture treatments allows for a playful twist on colour and finish.
