Celebrating the Businesses Showcasing our Furniture
Where to find our pieces — and the people who helped us get here
One of the best parts of building Bothy Studio has been seeing how generous and interconnected our local business communities are. recently we reached out to a handful of places we admire — cafés, coworking spaces, and community hubs that reflect the spirit we want Bothy to embody: creative, welcoming, locally rooted. We asked them to host a piece of bothy furniture.
They didn’t just agree to place a piece; they shared their enthusiasm, made room in busy spaces, and helped us understand how our designs live in the real world. For a young studio working to build modern, regionally made furniture, that support has meant everything.
We’d love for you to visit them — not only to see our furniture in use, but because these are the kinds of places that make the Kootenays and the Columbia Valley such vibrant, textured communities.

Cranbrook’s Ground Floor is exactly what a coworking space should be: friendly, inspiring, and rooted in the local business community. They welcomed Bothy before we had even launched, making space for our early pieces in a lively and productive environment.

A Thank-You From the Bothy Team
These businesses aren’t just hosting our pieces — they are helping us learn, refine, and grow. We’re so grateful for their support in these early days, and we’re proud to see Bothy furniture in spaces that reflect the communities we care about.
To everyone who said yes: thank you. You’re part of our story.

The People and Programs Who Helped Us Along the Way
While our host businesses brought Bothy into public view, a number of organizations and individuals helped us shape the studio itself — offering mentorship, technical support, and strategic guidance at exactly the right moments. They’re not hosts, but they are absolutely part of the foundation that Bothy is built on.
Selkirk Technology Access Centre
Offered us incredible technical expertise, prototyping support, and helped us refine early production workflows. Without STAC we wouldn’t be here. Shawn, Kailey, Seth, Jason and everyone at Stac - thank you!
Venture Accelerator Program (VAP)
For the frameworks, mentorship, and structured guidance that helped us grow Bothy from an idea into a viable, scalable venture.
Beth Gallup
A thoughtful, incisive mentor whose clarity and experience sharpened our story, strengthened our strategy, and pushed us toward better answers.
KAST (Kootenay Association for Science & Technology)
For building the regional ecosystem that supports creative and technical entrepreneurship — and for connecting us with the right resources at the right time.
NRC IRAP — SMARTS Grant
For supporting our early research and development, and enabling us to explore the systems that will make distributed digital fabrication across Canada possible.
Our family and friends - building a business is challenging, risky and tends to eat away at family time and resources. While Anna and myself have been working to create a stable foundation for Bothy.Studio we have been supported by our partners/husbands Blaine Cook and Matt Wynne and also friends including but not limited to Kate Leadbeater and Brian Lye - we have so many more to thank but we will do those in later posts.
We wouldn’t be here without this extended community of helpers and collaborators. They are part of the ecosystem around Bothy Studio — an ecosystem we’re proud to contribute to and grow within.
Looking Ahead
As we continue refining our designs, expanding our distributed manufacturing network, and sharing new pieces, we’re excited to keep working with — and giving back to — the communities that supported us from the start. If you visit any of our host spaces, tag us and the business or send us a photo; we’d love to see where and how our pieces are being used. We offer a prize for one lucky poster!
Onward — and thank you for being part of our journey.
